# Sales channels and sync

> How a connected sales channel stays in step with your stock, prices, and incoming orders.

A sales channel is an outside marketplace or storefront, such as Shopify, WooCommerce, G2A, Kinguin, Driffle, or G2G, that you connect to your store. Once connected, it stays in step with your stock so you manage everything from one place.

<Tip>
  Ready to set one up? See [Connect a sales channel](/guides/sales-channels/connect-a-sales-channel) for the step-by-step guide.
</Tip>

## Mapping your products to listings

Before a channel can sync, you tell it which of your products matches which listing on that marketplace. This mapping is the link that lets stock and price flow correctly in both directions.

<Steps>
  <Step title="You connect the channel">
    You link the marketplace to your store once.
  </Step>

  <Step title="You map products to listings">
    You pair each product with its listing on the channel so they know they are the same item.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Sync takes over">
    From then on, stock and price stay aligned automatically on most channels.
  </Step>
</Steps>

<Note>
  Driffle is the exception. Driffle keeps the stock it sells, so you set the amount yourself with **Declare stock** instead of a background push. See [Driffle](/guides/sales-channels/driffle).
</Note>

## Stock and price push out

When your stock level or price changes, the channel is updated to match. If you sell some keys elsewhere and your stock drops, the connected channel learns about it, so you are far less likely to oversell the same key twice.

<Note>
  The goal of sync is a single source of truth. You manage stock and price in your store, and the channel reflects it rather than the other way around.
</Note>

## Orders come back in

Sync is a two-way street. When a buyer purchases on the connected marketplace, that order comes back into your store as a normal order. From there it follows the same fulfilment path as any other order, and the marketplace is kept informed as delivery happens.
