# Notifications

> Choose which events notify you and where they reach you. Your preferences are personal to you and set separately for each store.

Notifications keep you posted when things happen in your store, like a new order or a low-stock warning. You manage them in **Settings > Notifications**, and you read the in-app ones from the bell icon in the app.

  Notification preferences are personal, and they are kept per store. Each teammate chooses their own, so turning something on or off changes it for you, not for the whole store. If you belong to more than one store, you set your preferences in each store separately.

## Where notifications reach you

Under **Choose how you receive notifications** you pick where they reach you:

* **In-app notifications**: shown in the bell icon within the app.
* **Email notifications**: sent to you through your store's configured sender.

The **Sender email** section shows the address your store's notification emails come from. If you want to send from your own domain, set up custom SMTP under [Email and SMTP](/guides/settings/email-smtp).

## Choose which events notify you

Under **Notification types**, events are grouped by the part of the store they come from. Each group shows how many of its events are on.

* **Customer notifications**: what your buyers receive. This group is marked **Coming Soon**.
* **Staff notifications**: what reaches you and your team as the store runs. It is split into **Orders**, **Purchase orders**, **Support**, **Inventory & products**, **Vendors**, **Team**, and **Sales channels**.
* **System notifications**: billing, and anything TokenSupply runs for you that stops working. It is split into **Billing** and **Platform health**.

    Select a group to see its events. In **Staff notifications**, open a section such as **Orders** to see the events inside it.

    Each event shows what triggers it. Flip the switch beside any event, for example **Order cancelled**, which tells you when an order is cancelled.

There is no Save button. Your changes save automatically as you flip each switch, and you see **Saved** once they are stored. If a change cannot be saved, the switch goes back to how it was and TokenSupply tells you why.

## The notification bell

The bell icon in the app shows your in-app notifications. Open it to catch up on recent activity without leaving the page you are on. The bell shows notifications for the store you are in, so switching stores switches the feed too.
